Write with formatting and get the Markdown, preview Markdown someone sent you, and turn it into Word or PDF. All on one page, nothing to install.
Your documents never leave the browser: the conversion runs on your device and nothing is sent to any server, so you can work on minutes, contracts, internal documentation or client notes without them ending up on somebody else's hard drive.
Markdown has become the default format for technical documentation, wikis, tickets, repositories and AI agent output, yet hardly anyone wants to write it by hand or read it raw. Here you get both directions: a visual editor that emits clean Markdown as you type, and a viewer that turns Markdown into a formatted document ready to download as .docx or .pdf.
Write or paste your text above, or drop a .docx file.
Paste your Markdown on the left, or drop a .md file.
Everything happens in your browser. Gestycontrol never receives or stores your documents.
.docx or simply copy and paste from Word, Google Docs or Outlook; the formatting is kept and translated into Markdown..docx (not HTML in disguise — it opens and edits in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs) or a PDF with selectable text, not an image. Is my document uploaded to a server?
No. The whole conversion runs in your browser with JavaScript. Neither the text nor the files are sent to Gestycontrol or to any third party, and you can check it yourself in your browser's network tab.
Which Markdown syntax does it understand?
The standard one (CommonMark) plus the GitHub extensions: tables, strikethrough, task lists and fenced code blocks.
Is the Word file a real .docx?
Yes. It generates an OOXML document with heading styles, numbered and bulleted lists, tables and code blocks, so it opens without warnings in Word, LibreOffice Writer, Pages or Google Docs.
And the PDF?
It is typeset directly in the browser using the standard PDF fonts, so the text can be selected, copied and searched. It targets the Latin alphabet; if your document uses non-Latin scripts or emoji, export it to Word instead.
Can I convert an old .doc file?
The binary .doc format cannot be read in the browser. Open it in Word and save it as .docx, or copy the content and paste it into the editor.
